News from the Missoula Cultural Council
Hope everyone is surviving the heat!
The Missoula Cultural Council is gearing up for our 19th annual Germanfest celebration, once again the celebration will be held in September at Caras Park, stay tuned for details.
This month's First Friday is jammed packed with events and fantastic artist's all over town. This month's sponsor is Rita Gray at Lambros Real Estate located 400 N. Higgins Avenue suite C, the art of Kevin Fredenberg and Emily Hall will be featured.

Visit MAM for First Fridays
from 5-8 PM. Montana Triennial: 2012 artists Joel Allen and
Toni Matlock will speak about the work that was selected for inclusion in this
year’s juried exhibition. These artists have featured works with a large
presence in the Triennial installation, yet each has a very different artistic
approach. Following the talk, time will be set aside for Q and A. Always free.

In Not Your
Everyday Ritual, Seth Green will address the issues of everyday objects and
special use pottery. Seth will present ceramic vessels that are removed from the
everyday utility of pots we use for eating or drinking. The function of the
pottery in this exhibition will elevate the atmosphere of a daily ritual or
ceremony, and differentiate the sacred from the mundane.

John is a fourth generation Montana native who fondly remembers many summers spent at the family cabin on Lake Inez in the Seeley Swan Valley. As he grew up, photography was a family affair starting with a Kodak Brownie camera and then an Instamatic. John and his brothers set up their own dark room in the family home.

Butterfly Herbs. Her show is entitled, “Bones and Skin.” A

The Pattee Canyon Ladies' Salon is having its thirteenth annual group art exhibition on August 2,3,4, and 6, with an opening reception on Thursday, August 2 from 5:00 -7:30 p.m. The exhibition will take place at the Brunswick Building, 223 W. Railroad Street, and will feature studies from the figure in various media, including pencil, oil pastel, oil paint gouache, fabric, and ceramics.
