The opening reception for Capture the Moment: The Pulitzer Prize Photographs is from 5 - 8 p.m. This national traveling exhibition is the largest display of Pulitzer Prize-winning images from 1942 - 2009. The photographs will be arranged chronologically, and each will be accompanied by in-depth narrative text that sets the stage for the image. Among the historical moments captured, are the raising of the American flag on Iwo Jima, the shooting of Lee Harvey Oswald by Jack Ruby, and many others. This exhibition runs through October 23,2009. Missoula stained glass artist Kiki Renander uses trees as a motif for new work she'll be displaying in her August show at the Artists Shop. Orange Street Underpass What's art without a little controversy? If you've ever been in the Orange Street underpass walking tunnel, you know it's rather creepy to walk through: for about a block you're trapped between ground-to-ceiling steel fencing and a forboding , gray, concrete wall covered in obscenities and violent proclamations. Well, as of this posting on Tuesday, August 4th, walking through the tunnel has suddenly become much brighter. Someone recently covered
up all that offensive graffiti with colorful wavy lines that span the whole tunnel. They even threw in a few kitty cats, sheep, and cute creatures to discover along the way. Apparently it was done by a group called the Color Kidz.Zootown Arts Community Center
